1 Lakh Units of 2018 Maruti Suzuki Swift Sold in only 145 Days

Maruti Suzuki has got a bumper opening sales for the 2018 Swift, the Number-1 car maker of India have managed to sell 1 Lakh units in 145 flat. Incidentally the 20th Millionth vehicle produced by them was also the Swift just a few days back.

Maruti Suzuki has been selling the Swift on high numbers right since its launch in 20015 and has sold over 1.89 million units in India so far. This his is the fastest 100,000 units for any car in India. The Third generation Swift has received overwhelming acceptance from customers across regions and age groups, complementing the success of the first and second generation Swift.

Maruti Suzuki had launched the all-new 2018 Maruti Swift at the Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this year. The new Swift is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base LXI variant, while the top-end ZDI + variant comes in at Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

This is the third-generation Maruti Swift, based on the 5th-generation HEARTECT platform, this generation gives the superior power to weight ratio with an improved acceleration performance. The car gets features like a 7-inch Smart Play infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, LED projector headlamps, LED taillights and new design dual tone 15-inch alloy wheels.

The 2018 Maruti Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol motor that develops 83 PS and a 1.3-litre diesel that develops 75 PS. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and an AGS automatic transmission (AMT). The petrol engine is rated to deliver 22 kmpl while the diesel is rated to deliver a class leading 28.4 kmpl. The new Swift will come with ABS, 2 airbags and ISOFIX seats as standard on all variants.
