Mercedes-Benz retains spot as India’s Top Luxury Car Maker

Mercedes-Benz records it’s highest ever sales in India; maintains its leadership and winning brand position in the dynamic Indian luxury car industry, for the third consecutive year ‘The Best Keeps Leading’ is the guiding philosophy for 2018. Mercedes-Benz sold 2,289,344 units globally (+9.9%) in 2017, retaining its leadership in premium car brand globally.

Mercedes Benz India sold a record 15,330 units sold between January-December, 2017 (+15.9%; Jan-Dec 2016: 13,231 units). A record 8,159 units sold between July-December, 2017 (+23%; July-December 2016: 6,634 units). The exceptional demand for the new Long Wheelbase E-Class continues for all its variants, keeping the tag of the Best Executive Sedan of the country. The GLC, GLE and GLS range of SUVs continue to retain the top slots in the SUV segment for 2nd year in a row.

An all-round performance across segments with the sedan segment, the SUV segment and AMG achieved double-digit growth in the year 2017. This was also coupled with a multitude of unique after-sales, brand and finance programmes that supported the brand’s growth last year. Mercedes-Benz India is all set to launch the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 at Auto Expo 2018 ensuring a bold start to the year 2018.
