MG Motor Christens their 1st SUV model for India as Hector, Launch in mid 2019

MG Motor had announced that their 1st model for India would be an SUV and today they have announced the name for the made for India model as the Hector. The Iconic brand has also released a video for the Hector that can be seen in this news story. MG Motor plans to launch the Hector in India in mid of 2019.

The MG Hector will rival the likes of the segment leader the Hyundai Creta, soon to be launched Tata Harrier and the Jeep Compass and also the Mahindra XUV 5OO territory. The new MG SUV ‘Hector’ will be manufactured at MG Motor’s brand new facility at Hallol in Gujarat. The name Hector belongs to the legendary British biplane called the Hawker Hector.

The video released by MG Motor shows the Hector being tested in freezing conditions, what is visible on the totally camouflaged test car is the stylish looking LED turn lights and a bold front grill. The instrument cluster is also seen in one scene of the video along with the steering wheel and the black cabin. MG Motor has big plans for India and has already invested loads at its manufacturing facility at Hallol Gujarat.

MG Motor will be loading the Hector till the brim in terms of equipment and feature list. We can be sure that the MG Hector will top the segment in terms of equipment level which include Traction Control, ABS, 360 degree camera, Tyre pressure monitoring system to name a few. The MG Hector is also said to be loaded with a huge touchscreen infotainment system, ambient mood lighting.

MG Motor Hector will be generous in dimensions, as a result will offer loads of cabin space tho no exact dimensions have been revealed yet. Also unclear is if the Hector would be a 5-seater or a 7-seater model. Engine options for the MG Hector will be both petrol and diesel along with manual and automatic transmission available.
