Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Launched, prices start at ₹11.16 Lakh

Skoda has re-introduce the Monte Carlo marque in India. The first Skoda car model to join the Monte Carlo lineup is the Rapid. The prices for the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo start at ₹11.16 Lakh Ex Showroom pan India. The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo will be available in the Flash Red color. 

Monte Carlo, the urban area of the principality of Monaco is synonymous with extravagance, glamour, elegance and motorsports. A celebration of Skoda’s success at the legendary ‘Queen of Rallies’ the premium Monte Carlo range combines luxury and glamour with pulse racing sports styling. The premium Monte Carlo range will offer distinctive black design accents and race inspired exquisite interiors.

Commenting on the introduction of the new ŠKODA RAPID Monte Carlo, Mr. Zac Hollis, Director – Sales, Service, and Marketing, Skoda Auto India Pvt Ltd said, “We are glad to re-introduce the Monte Carlo marque in India. The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo gets a Matt black signature front grill l, gloss black mirrors and quartz-cut projector headlights (with chrome eyelashes) and LED daytime running lights. The Rapid Monte Carlo also gets dual tone 16” Clubber alloy wheels with glossy black bolt covers, glossy black décor on the B pillars with MONTE CARLO flag badge, the black roof foil, the black tailgate spoiler and the black grained sporty diffuser.

The interiors of the Rapid Monte Carlo includes three-spoke SuperSport flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel and the gear knob with black perforated leather and red decorative stitching, leatherette seat upholstery with grey vertical stripes, ribbed stainless steel foot pedals and scuff plates with ‘MONTE CARLO’ inscription, piano black center console, chrome inserts, 6.5-inch colour touchscreen Central Infotainment System with SmartLink, USB, AUX, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. 

Other features include rain sensing wipers, cruise control, multifunctional display, height and length adjustable steering wheel, adjustable headrests and foldable armrests, tinted windows and windscreen, rear view camera.

In terms of safety the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo comes with dual airbags and ABS as standard across the lineup. Other safety features include ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is available on the DSG variant and HHC (Hill Hold Control) is available on both AT Petrol and AT Diesel variants.

The Monte Carlo comes powered with the 1.5L TDI diesel engine and the 1.6L MPI petrol engine. The 1.5 litre TDI produces 110PS of power and torque output of 250 Nm while delivering fuel efficiency of 21.72 kmpl (DSG) and 21.13 kmpl (MT). The 1.6 litre MPI makes 105 PS of power and a peak torque output of 153Nm while delivering fuel efficiency figures of 15.41 kmpl (MT) and 14.84 kmpl (AT).
