KTM has launched its all new Duke 160 to take on the 160 cc segment, A machine built for riders who crave razor-sharp handling, head-turning style, and everyday rideability. Slotting perfectly between beginner-friendly commuters and high-performance nakeds, the Duke 160 carries KTM’s signature ‘Ready to Race’ DNA in a compact, aggressive package that promises to make every ride an adrenaline rush.
Engine and Gearbox
All new Ktm Duke 160 is the most powerful bike in the segment, It gets a 164.2-cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC motor, which produces 19 hp at 9,500 rpm and 15.5 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm, The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission, aided by a slip and assist clutch.
Chassis, suspension and brakes
The Duke 160 gets the iconic split trellis frame same as its siblings, It gets upside down forks at the front and monoshock absorber at the rear by WP Apex. It gets 320 mm front disk and 230 mm disk at the rear, It gets dual channel ABS as standard which is switchable. The bike rides on 17-inch alloys wrapped in 110-section front and 140-section rear tyres. It gets a 5 inch TFT display and all Led lighting which are similar to the duke 200
Overall Duke 160 shares its underpinnings with the Duke 200, It has similar chassis, Same engine but its size has been reduced similar lights and alloy wheels
Pricing and rivals
The Duke 160 has been priced at rs 1.85 lakh ex showroom and it gets only one variant with 3 colour options. One of its arch rival is the Yamaha MT-15 which undercuts the price of Duke 160, MT-15 is priced at 1.70-1.81 lakh ex showoom depending on the variant.
The bookings of duke 160 are open and bikes are available in showrooms for test ride and delivery.
