Nissan TEKTON SUV Reveals Design Ahead of Global Debut — Creta Rival SUV Inspired by the Patrol SUV, Coming to India Q2 2026
Exclusive: First Look at the Nissan Tekton — The Brand’s All-New C-SUV for India
Nissan has unveiled its upcoming C Segment SUV for India the Nissan TEKTON today. Designed collaboratively at Nissan’s design studios in London and Japan, the Tekton embodies a perfect balance between global styling cues and regional preferences. The SUV’s design draws strong inspiration from the latest-generation Nissan Patrol, the brand’s iconic full-size SUV.
Styling & Design
The front end features signature C-shaped DRLs integrated with a connected LED light bar, giving the Tekton a futuristic identity. The bold ‘TEKTON’ badging embossed across the bonnet lends it a commanding stance, while the new Nissan logo sits prominently on a grille detailed with horizontal silver lines for a striking visual effect.
Adding to the finer details is a unique fender insert depicting the mighty Himalayas, emphasizing the SUV’s connection to India. Other highlights include roof rails, flush rear door handles mounted on the C-pillar, and C-shaped LED tail lamps connected by a sleek light bar at the rear. A large rear spoiler with winglets completes the sporty, aerodynamic profile.
Modern Interior with a Premium Touch
Inside, the Tekton promises a modern and tech-laden cabin. The layered dashboard design is accentuated by ambient lighting and faux brushed metal inserts, giving the interior a sophisticated look. Expect premium comfort features like ventilated seats, along with a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (AVN) with connected car tech.
Engine Options and Platform
The Tekton is underpinned by the CMF-B platform, co-developed with Renault, which will also form the base for the next-generation Renault Duster. Powertrain options are expected to include petrol, mild-hybrid, and strong-hybrid configurations — giving customers a broad range of choices in performance and efficiency.
Built in India, for India
The Nissan Tekton will be manufactured locally, reaffirming Nissan’s commitment to the Indian market. The company aims to position the Tekton as a global product tailored specifically for Indian conditions and preferences.
Rivals and Market Position
When launched, the Tekton will compete with heavyweights such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
With its bold design, feature-rich cabin, and hybrid-ready architecture, the Tekton could be Nissan’s most important launch for India in recent years — and a key contender in the country’s ever-growing SUV space.
