Skoda Rapid Rider Launched at ₹6.99 Lakh

Skoda has launched the base entry trim of the Rapid sedan today. The Skoda Rapid Rider which now is the most affordable trim is priced at ₹6.99 Lakh Pan India.

The Skoda Rapid Rider will be only available in Petrol and is offered in two color options – Candy White and Carbon Steel.

Commenting on the introduction of the new ŠKODA RAPID RIDER, Mr. Zac Hollis, Director – Sales, Service and Marketing, ŠKODA AUTO India said, “The RAPID RIDER offers a compelling combination of the brand’s emotive design, exquisite interiors and class leading safety features, at a very competitive price point. It is deemed to be a best seller setting benchmark for functionality, practicality and spaciousness in its segment.”

In terms of exteriors the Skoda Rapid Rider gets black facade of the signature grille along with black side foils. The B pillars also get blacked out masking along with the black trunk lip garnish. On the inside the cabin gets new dual-tone ebony sand interior, with premium ivory slate upholstery and Rapid inscribed scuff plates.

In terms of safety the Skoda Rapid Rider comes with features like dual airbags and anti-lock braking system which is also standard across its product portfolio, Parktronic rear parking sensors, anti-glare interior rear view mirror, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height adjustable three-point seatbelts at the front, rough road package, and engine immobilizer with floating code system on its list.

Powering the Skoda Rapid Rider is the 1.6L DOHC 4-cylinder Petrol engine generating 105PS of power and 153Nm of peak torque with a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.41kmpl.

The Rapid Rider can also be got with the ŠKODA Shield Plus that ensures 6 years of hassle-free ownership experience and utmost ‘PEACE OF MIND’. It incorporates motor insurance, 24 x 7 road side assistance, and an extended warranty. The Skoda Rapid competes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento.
