Tata Motors launches the most affordable Electric Car Tiago EV at ₹8.49 Lakh

Tata Motor’s has launched India’s most affordable Electric Car the Tiago EV today with prices starting at ₹8.49 Lakh. The Tata Tiago EV is available in two battery pack options – 19.2kWh and 24kWh. The former does 315km range and the latter doing 250kms range in single charge. Bookings for the car start on October 10 and deliveries will begin in January 2023.

The Tata Tiago EV is available  in five colour options – Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Midnight Plum and Tropical Mist.

The Tiago EV is powered by a choice of two battery pack options to choose from – 19.2kWh and 24kWh that powers the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor which delivers a peak output of 55kw and 114Nm of torque that  accelerates the EV from 0 to 60 Kmph in just 5.7 seconds.

Charge time for the Tata Tiago EV ranges from 57mins using a DC fast charger. The car comes with two driving modes – City and Sport along with four levels of regen settings in each of the drive modes.

In terms of looks on the outside the Tiago EV looks identical to the ICE version of the hatch with a few additions like cool blue inserts on the face, EV wheels, EV badging, DRL and projector headlamps.

In terms of features the Tiago EV gets faux leather upholstery, automatic climate control, rain sensing wipers, auto projector headlamps, electric wing mirrors with auto fold, cruise control, usb button start/stop. The Tiago EV also gets more than 45 connected car features which include Remote AC ON/OFF with temperature setting, Remote geo fencing & car location tracking, Smart watch connectivity, Remote vehicle health diagnostics, Real-time charge status, Dynamic charger locator, Driving Style analytics amongst others.

The Tiago EV comes with  8-speaker Harman Infotainment System with Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity.

In terms of safety the Tiago EV which is based on the Tiago ICE that has 4 star rating comes with 2 airbags, hill hold assist, reverse camera,  tpms, abs with ebd to name a few.
