Unveiled – Nissan Unveils the KICKS Crossover SUV in India, Launch in early 2019

Nissan has unveiled the KICKS Crossover SUV in India. The Nissan KICKS is slated for launch in January 2019 with its price announcement. As Nissan puts it the KICKS is designed and built with GRAPHENE (Gravity-philic Energy Absorption) Body Structure, which has inherent capability to absorb impact energy making the Nissan KICKS Stronger, Safer and Durable on Indian roads.

The KICKS offers a host of established design signatures and features e.g. Floating Roof Design created by blacked out pillars with Stylish Roof Rail and Signature LED DRL, Shark Fin Antenna, Front Fog Lamps and Door Mounted ORVS with Indicators. The bold V-motion grille, a signature motif in Nissan’s design language adds to NEW KICKS’ distinctive presence. The uniquely designed headlamps and tail lights feature iconic boomerang-shaped LED signature lamps to add character.

The powerful, wheel-oriented stance is further enhanced by R17, 5 spoke machined-alloy wheels. The bold styling with dynamic stance and glamorous fender arch bring out the solidity and elegance in the NEW KICKS, while substantial face and back style provide a masculine and rugged presence on the Indian roads.

The interiors of the Nissan KICKS have not been revealed yet but we feel it will be as stylish and trendy as the exteriors when it is revealed during the full launch.

The Indian version of the KICKS will be a lot different from its International version and will be based on the B0 platform that it shares with the Terrano SUV. Powering the Nissan KICKS will be the 1.6-litre, four-cylinder Petrol engine making103 bhp, while the diesel option of the KICKS will come with the tried and tested 1.5-litre engine in two tune options of 84 bhp and 108 bhp. Transmission options could be the 6-speed AMT and the 5-speed manual options.

The Nissan KICKS will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur when launched early next year. The Indian version of the Nissan KICKS stands a lot bigger than its global version in dimension measuring 4384 mm in length, 1813 mm in width, and 1656 mm in height with an overall wheelbase of 2673 mm and a ground clearance of more than 200 mm.
