LIVE! 2017 BMW 5-Series (G30) launched in India at Rs. 49.90 lakhs
The all new 2017 BMW 5-Series is up to 70 kgs lighter than the car its replaces. It is available with 3 engine options in the 520d, 530i and 530d guise.
BMW India has finally brought us the all new 5-series at a tempting Rs. 49.90 lakhs. It will be available the Sport Line, Luxury Line and M-Sport trim levels. The base Sport Line trim will be offered on the 530i and the 520d only. The Luxury Line trim has been launched on only the 520d variant. While the range topping 530d variant will be available with the M-Sport trim only. The car is based on an all new platform that is lighter than before by 70 kilos. The 2017 BMW 5-Series takes on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB, Volvo S90, Jaguar XF and Audi A6.
On the looks front the new 5-series comes with a larger kidney grille and adaptive LED headlights that are integrated into them. The sides and the rear again see an evolutionary update that makes the car looks a lot more athletic. On the insides though the 2017 BMW 5-Series is a complete tech fest. It gets the latest generation of BMW’s iDrive system, Gesture Control, Remote Control Parking with BMW Display Key with touchscreen, Park Distance Control, Parking Assitant, Surround View Camera and Wireless Charging.
The 2017 BMW 5-Series as mentioned above will be available with 3 engine options – 2.0-litre petrol with 245 PS and 350 Nm, 2.0-litre diesel with 190 PS and 400 Nm, and a 3.0-litre diesel with 262 PS and 620 Nm. All engines come mated to a 8-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox. In addition, there are various drive modes to choose from – Comfort, Sport, Sport+, ECO PRO and the new Adaptive mode. The standard warranty of 2 years on the car can be extended up to 6 years with no mileage restriction with various optional service packages that the company is offering.
