2023 Range Rover Sport Bookings Open, Prices start at Rs. 1.64 Crore
Jaguar Land Rover, India has opened bookings for the 2023 Range Rover Sport, with prices starting from ₹ 164. 29 Lakh (ex-showroom). The new Range Rover Sport is available with the six-cylinder 48 V mild-hybrid Ingenium diesel engine delivering a power of 221 kW and 650 Nm torque. It is available in Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE and Autobiography specifications, with a First Edition available throughout the first year of production, featuring a specially curated specification.
The All New Range Rover Sport uses the MLA-Flex platform that gives it greater stiffness than the previous Sport and provides the foundation for the Integrated Chassis Control System. You also get Dynamic Air Suspension with switchable volume springs – a Range Rover first that is standard across the range. The new Stormer Handling Pack brings Dynamic Response Pro (using the 48-volt power system for anti-roll axle control), all-wheel steering, and Electronic Active Differential with Torque Vectoring by Braking; the pack will standard on P510e and P530 models. Terrain Response 2 is standard, with Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control fitted to the Sport for the first time.
Like the outgoing model lot of tech and features has been derived from the big daddy Range Rover. The All New Range Rover Sport will be available in Dynamic SE/HSE specifications along with Land Rover’s iconic First Edition that also will be available on the lineup.
In terms of styling the All New Range Rover Sports comes with a so called Stealth grille upfront and a neatly sculpted tailgate with all its key styling body panels shouting out its Range Rover Sport lineage. The doorhandles and glass are fitted flush, with the laser-welded roof that gives the SUV a smoother appearance.
Inside the All New Range Rover Sport you get Jaguar Land Rover’s latest generation Pivi Pro infotainment system and 13.1in curved glass touchscreen. Upholstery choices include Ultrafabrics in Duo Tone colourways along with regular premium leather options too on the list. The sound system is a Meridian Signature Sound unit that powers through 29 speakers, a new subwoofer and up to 1430W – including four headrest speakers that enable those travelling in the four main seats of the vehicle to experience “personal sound zones” that’s a step or two ahead of 3D surround sound. Other features on the list include, adaptive dynamics 2, dynamic air suspension with switchable volume air springs and twin-valve adaptive dampers, rear-wheel steering with up to 7.3 degrees turning angle, e-active differential, Terrain Response 2, dynamic response pro, and new adaptive off-road cruise control.
The sound system also works with Active Noise Cancellation. In normal driving, microphones and accelerometers inside each wheel arch constantly monitor the sounds passing into the vehicle, while digital processors calculate the level of noise-cancelling sound required to filter this from the cabin – much like a pair of high-end headphones. In sportier drive modes, the sound system allows more engine noise into the cabin.
The new Range Rover Sport comes powered with a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine mated with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. This engine makes 345bhp and 700Nm and can hit zero to 100kmph in 5.9 seconds while the top speed is limited at 234kmph. The petrol version of the Range Rover Sport the P440e comes powered with a 2,996cc, six-cylinder, petrol engine along with a battery pack offering an EV-only triple-digit travel range. Land Rover plans to also offer other engine options, including PHEV and V8 versions at later stage.
