BMW Launches the 5 Series 50 Jahre M Edition priced at Rs. 67.50 Lakh

German luxury carmaker BMW has launched the 5 Series 50 M Jahre Edition in India priced at Rs 67.50 lakh (ex-showroom). This special-edition model of the 5 Series can be pre-booked exclusively via the BMW India website starting today. BMW is celebrating 50 glorious years of its M division worldwide with special-edition models lately. BMW will be getting 10 exclusive automobiles to the country in this celebration. This exclusive limited-run 5 Series 50 M Jahre Edition is based on the top-of-the-line 5 Series 530i M Sport trim. On its feature list the Limited Edition car gets BMW Motorsport logo at the front, back and also on the wheel hub caps. The special package also includes the ‘50 Years of M’ door projectors, signature kidney grille, front bumper design elements, window frames, outside rearview mirrors, and exhaust tips all finished in high-gloss black paint job.

Other additions on this the 5 Series 50 M Jahre Edition include 18-inch M alloy wheels in Jet Black with Red M Sport brake callipers. Body color options offered by BMW on the 5 Series 50 M Jahre Edition include four metallic paint options – Carbon Black, Phytonic Blue, Alpine White, and Bernina Grey Amber Effect. The super smart looking premium sedan also comes  with the latest technology BMW laser headlights which has a intelligent light throw range of more than half KMS ahead.

In terms of interiors the Special Edition car gets Sensatec upholstery in Cognac colour theme with contrast decorative stitching, M Division special stitched seat belts. All other features and in-cabin equipment on the 5 Series M 50 Jahre are similar to the regular 530i M Sport which include an 12.3-inch driver display, a 12.3-inch central information hub, a 16-speaker, 464-watt Harman Kardon sound system, front sports seats, four-zone temperature control etc.

Powering the 5 Series 50 M Jahre Edition is the 1,998cc, inline-four, twin-turbocharged petrol engine mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission. This motor hits out 248bhp and 350Nm of torque that can propel this sedan from  zero to 100kmph in 6.1 seconds. BMW is also offering a choice of three optional packages with the 5 Series 50 M Jahre Edition, which include – Racer’s Package, Motorsport Package, and Carbon Package.
