Introducing the BMW S 1000 XR, the touring-focused counterpart to the S 1000 RR, now open for bookings alongside the R 1300 GS starting at Rs 50,000.

Priced at Rs 22.5 lakh (ex-showroom), the S 1000 XR enters the Indian market shortly after the debut of the BMW M 1000 XR, offering a more accessible option while retaining the sport-touring essence of the S 1000 RR.

Powered by a 999cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine delivering 172PS at 11,000rpm and 114Nm at 9250rpm, the S 1000 XR boasts a structural engine design and advanced rider aids including four riding modes, engine brake control, and cruise control.

Equipped with adaptive suspension and a steering damper, the XR offers customization options with its standard 17-inch cast aluminum wheels, upgradable to forged units with the M-Sport package. With adjustable seat height and a kerb weight of 226kg, the S 1000 XR prioritizes versatility and handling.

Enhancing its sporty appeal, the optional M-Sport package includes unique livery, lightweight components, and performance upgrades, making the S 1000 XR a versatile sport-tourer suitable for both road and track enthusiasts.
