Hyundai EXTER Micro SUV launched at ₹5.99 Lakh, packs a Punch in terms of features, space, looks & options
Hyundai has launched the EXTER Micro SUV at a starting price of ₹5.99 Lakh. The Hyundai EXTER goes up against the likes of the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger in its segment.
The Hyundai EXTER is available in seven trims with petrol and CNG powertrains and is positioned below the Venue mid-size SUV. The Exter is 3,815mm long, 1,710mm wide, and 1,631mm tall, wheelbase of 2,450mm which is longer than any of its rivals.
In terms of looks the Hyundai EXTER comes with the latest Hyundai ‘parametric-jewel’ design language on the front grille, the tailgat and sides. The Micro SUV comes with H design LED DRL and also gets the bold ‘Exter’ badging on the front. The front bumper gets a Wide skid plate and also a dual shade bumper giving that SUV look to the car.
Side profile gets character lines that define the flat styling along with faux inserts across the wheel arches and running board. The roof gets a glossy black roof rail along with a shark fin antenna and an electric sun roof. The EXTER drives on 15 inch wheels mounted on dual tone alloys.
The rear profile comes with H design LED stop lamps along with jewel parametric inserts, faux skid plates and a dual tone bumper. The highlight at the rear is the glossy black spoiler that has into your face look to it.
In terms of interiors the Exter comes with the Aura and Nios inspired cabin with lots of new elements. The Exter gets a digital instrument cluster with a 4.2 inch MID and 12 customisable languages. Furthermore, the interior follows a fully-black theme along with a honeycomb pattern on the dashboard and a contrasting highlight on the circular aircon vents.
The Exter comes equipped with an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, a dash-mounted camera, connected car tech, cruise control, and an eight-inch touchscreen unit with connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Also on offer are some segment-first features like footwell lighting, metal pedals, rear Ac vents with power outlet, paddle shifter, and onboard navigation system.
Powering the Exter is the ever so capable 1.2-litre petrol engine that also does duties on the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and Venue. This engine produces 82bhp and 114Nm of torque and is coupled with a five-speed manual and an AMT unit. Furthermore, the powertrain is also offered in a CNG variant along with a manual gearbox.
