Hyundai INSTER EV Unveiled Globally with upto 355kms Drive Range, Coming to India Soon

Hyundai has unveiled its latest all Electric Vehicle the INSTER at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. The All New Hyundai INSTER will be first introduced in the European markets boasts of a driving range of up to 355 km according to WLTP standards. Hyundai says this EV will carve a new Sub-Compact EV segment with the EV offering compact design with a spacious interior.

In terms of exteriors the INSTER sports a unique clean surface panels with strong fenders, and modern design bumpers, LED daytime running lights with pixel-graphic turn signals that look funky. For the tyre size the customer can choose between the 15-inch steel with wheel covers or the 15-inch alloy or 17-inch alloy wheels.

The INSTER is based on the CASPER car model that was introduced in 2021 only for the Korean market. The INSTER gets an extended body and wheelbase that transforms into more interior space. INSTER will be positioned between the traditional A-segment city cars and larger B-segment models while offering better maneuverability and enhanced practicality.

“With INSTER, we’ve taken the small SUV image to a bold new place for the global audience,” said Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Center.

In terms of interiors the INSTER comes with a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation, and a wireless charging dock. The front row seating have a unique walk-through access while all the seats can be folded flat for increased flexibility. Front seats get heated options along with the steering wheel.

In ters of safety the INSTER gets advanced driver assistance systems such as Surround View Monitor (SVM), Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear (PCA-R), Blind-spot View Monitor (BVM), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5 (FCA 1.5), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Safety Exit Warning (SEW), Smart Cruise Control (SCC) w/ Stop and Go, Highway Driving Assist 1.5 (HDA 1.5), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), High Beam Assist (HBA), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA) and Rear Occupant Alert (ROA).

Powering the INSTER are two battery pack options, you get the 42 kWh standard battery option along with an 49 kWh long range battery option to choose from. The latter has a drive range of 355kms WLTP on a single charge. You also get DC high power charging capability where the INSTER can be charged from 10 to 80% in just 30 minutes. The EV comes with a 11kW on board charger as standard, you also get Vehicle to load (V2L) feature for powering devices along with bidirectional charging.

Hyundai is offering the INSTER in bold body-colors including Atlas White, Tomboy Khaki, Bijarim Khaki Matte, and Buttercream Yellow Pearl along with dualtone color options.

Hyundai will first launch the INSTER EV in its Korean market followed by Europe, Middle East and then the Asia Pacific which may also include the Indian market. Watch this space for more.
