Lexus NX300h to launch in January 2018; Most affordable Lexus in India
The Lexus NX300h will be the entry level offering by the Japanese luxury car maker and will take on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
Despite of no respite offered by the Indian government with respect to GST imposed on sale of hybrid vehicles in the country, Japanese car manufacturer Lexus is set to launch another hybrid vehicle in India. The Lexus NX300h will be the most affordable of the entire range in India. It is set to launch in January 2018, just before the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The company is firm on it’s focus for India and is launching yet another hybrid vehicle in the country. It will be launched with a petrol motor only with no signs of a diesel motor anytime soon. The Lexus NX300h is designed on the same philosophy as it’s elder sibling the RX450h. So you get an oversized spindle front grille, charming triple LED projector headlights and LED taillights. The mini SUV gets Lexus’ first kick-sensor-activated power rear door, first-in-class power-folding and power-reclining rear seats, a hi-fi Mark Levinson system with ClariFi technology and 14 speakers, 360 degree panoramic surround view monitor, which uses four high-definition cameras to simulate a top-down view of the vehicle. This view spins to show surrounding vehicles, pedestrians, and obstacles, and includes position projections to demonstrate the vehicle’s path at slow speed. There is a 10.3-inch split-screen multimedia display provides simultaneous access to audio and climate controls and various systems, including the navigation system that is coupled with a full color heads up display.
The Lexus NX300h is powered by a 2.5-litre r-cylinder petrol motor that develops 194 HP and delivers an ARAI certified fuel economy of 18.32 kmpl. The engine is BS6 compliant too. Safety features include 8 airbags, ABS, vehicle stability control and an anti-theft system making the Lexus NX300h a secure ride. We would be driving this mini luxury SUV soon.
