LIVE! 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA Facelift Launched At Rs. 31.40 Lakhs
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA is the entry level sedan offering by the German luxury car maker and has been introduced at an very tempting Rs. 31.40 lakhs ex-showroom, Mumbai.
Mercedes-Benz has been launching new cars one after the other in India recently. Their recent launches were the S-Class Cabriolet and the C-Class Cabriolet, and not even a month into it they have launched another new car in the Indian market. Mercedes-Benz India has given a mid life update for its stylish entry level sedan, the CLA. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift features a tweaked front end design, and more features on the insides to lure more buyers to its most affordable sedan.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA gets a new full LED headlights and a redesigned lower bumper. The 3D diamond grille has been retained, although the Sport version pictured gets black finishers instead of the previously offered chrome finish. The sides largely remain the same and the rear gets new LED taillights that look even more sportier than before. There is a Road & Track Package that offers up body decals, carbon fibre mirror housing, rear spoiler, red hub caps, sport pedals and valve caps at an extra cost of Rs. 1.78 lakhs. The car has been offered in a total of 3 variants – CLA 200 d Style, CLA 200 Sport and CLA 200 d Sport.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA is offered with two engine options as you might have noticed by now. The petrol motor is available only in the Sport variant and is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that develops 184 HP and 300 Nm. The diesel on the other hand is available in two variants and is powered by the same 2.1-litre 4-cylinder mill that churns out 136 HP and 300 Nm. Both engines are mated to a 7G-Tronic 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox with paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
On the insides, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA gets a bigger 8-inch infotainment system that supports Garmin Map Pilot, Android Auto, Apple Car Play, 2 USB slots, Bluetooth and SD Cards. The materials used on the dashboard now feel of even better quality than before and the front bucket seats feel sporty to say the least. On the safety front the new CLA gets features like reversing camera, 6 airbags, Tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS, ESP and Attention Assist as standard.
