LIVE – 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS Launched in India at ₹ 99.90 Lakh

Mercedes- Benz has launched the latest version of their flagship SUV the GLS today with prices starting at ₹ 99.90 . This is the third generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLS which has enjoyed huge success in India the Luxury Premium SUV segment.

The 2020 Mercedes Benz GLS is offered in both Petrol as the GLS 400 d  and in Diesel as the GLS450. The German premium carmaker had been running teasers of the 2020 GLS for some time now on it’s website.

The GLS gets two BS – 6 compliant  engine options , the diesel engine option is the 3.0-litre inline-six unit in its 400 d avatar putting down a sweet 330PS and 700 Nm. And the other is the GLS 450 d in-line six 3.0-litre petrol motor paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system which churns out a whooping 367PS and 500 Nm with the EQ-Boost mild-hybrid system adding a further 22PS and 250 Nm.

In terms of exteriors the the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS comes loaded with multi-beam LED headlamps, new design two-slat grille, new alloy wheels, new LED tail lights, new front and rear bumpers and dual exhaust vents. The 2020 Mercedes GLS as compared to the outgoing model stands 77mm longer and 22mm wider and also has its wheelbase increased by 60mm.

In terms of interiors the 2020Mercedes-Benz GLS gets an refreshed cabin that comes with the latest generation 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, MBUX system, 360-degree camera, five-zone climate control, Heads-Up Display (HUD), lumbar support with massage function for the second row as well as a rear seat entertainment package with 11.6-inch touchscreen units for the second row.

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS rivals against the likes of the BMW X7, Range Rover Sport, Volvo XC90 and the Porsche Cayenne in its segment.
