LIVE – Renault KIGER B-SUV Globally Unveiled in India

Renault globally premiered the KIGER B-SUV in India today. A brand-new compact SUV designed and developed for India before making its international debut, Renault KIGER is the latest in the line of products to be launched by Renault in India. Just like DUSTER, KWID AND TRIBER, Renault KIGER promises to be another gamechanger from Renault.

The KIGER’S design was inspired by the KIGER show-car that was unveiled at the end of 2020. Renault KIGER brings latest tech features to the CMFA+ platform that laid the foundation for the success of TRIBER with roominess, cabin storage and cargo space. A sculpted bonnet, the wings with pronounced shoulder lines, the black sills and wheel arches gives the car its own identity.

Highest in class ground clearance of 205 mm and functional roof bars are first in class features. At higher trim levels, the KIGER’S is offered with 16-inch black diamond-cut finish alloy wheels. The 2,500 mm long wheelbase and wheels placed at the four corners of the vehicle optimises the space inside the car and boot volume of 405 Litres that largest in the segment. Many more first in class features makes its way in the Kiger such as wireless phone charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, you will find an all LED light setup all around the car.

Renault KIGER will come with a brand-new 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine producing 100ps of power and 160nm of torque. A naturally aspirated 1.0 litre petrol engine that produces 72ps of power and 96nm of torque will be offered for the base/ lower variants of the Kiger. Both the engines will be mated with either a five-speed manual or the EASY-R five-speed robotised gearbox (AMT). An X-TRONIC automatic continuously variable transmission will be available shortly after the KIGER’S commercial launch. Coming to safety, two front airbags for the driver and front-seat passenger along with the two side airbags round out the safety suite. Both front seats get seat belt reminder alert for enhanced safety.

 

Kiger rivals the Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV 3OO, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport in the segment.
