Maruti Suzuki dedicates a brand new Community Hall to the village community of Naharpur Kasan

With a vision to improve the quality of life of people in its adopted villages, Maruti Suzuki today inaugurated a Community Hall in Naharpur Kasan Village of Manesar in Haryana. The newly constructed Community Hall will meet the requirement of having a common place for people residing in the village, where they can organize their social gatherings and events.

Hon’ble Cabinet Minister (Public Works (B&R), Forests, Architecture and Civil Aviation), Government of Haryana, Mr. Rao Narbir Singh inaugurated the Community Hall. Mr. Vijaypal Yadav, Naharpur Kasan Village Sarpanch, senior officers from Maruti Suzuki, community leaders and members of the village were also present at the inaugural event. The focus of Maruti Suzuki’s community development programmes is to transform the lives of people residing in 26 villages of Haryana (Gurgaon, Manesar and Rohtak locations) and Gujarat (Hansalpur and Vithlapur locations). The Company has designed a comprehensive Village Development Plan in consultation with village communities and panchayat leaders. The Village Development Plan includes projects under Water & Sanitation, Education, Health & creation of common community assets. The company aims to develop all 26 villages in next four years.

On the occasion, Mr. A.K Tomer, Executive Director, Corporate Planning, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “We recognize that village communities require a comfortable and inexpensive space for social gatherings and events such as weddings, panchayat meetings, etc. This emerged as a key requirement during regular interactions of our field team with the community and in our needs-assessment activities. We worked along with the village panchayat to address this need with a long-term perspective. I thank community members and especially the village Sarpanch for their support and contribution. We are handing over this facility to the community today with the confidence that they will manage and maintain it so that the community hall can serve the people sustainably for many years to come.”

The Community Hall, a first in the Naharpur Kasan village and third in the IMT Manesar, is spread over an area of 6145 square feet and has a capacity to accommodate around 250 people at a time. The village panchayat has given the land and Maruti Suzuki has constructed the community hall. The community hall is equipped with amenities like a green room, separate rooms for bride and bridegroom, 2 toilets and a large kitchen.
