Eicher trucks and buses launch BS4 compliant PRO 5000 Series

Eicher trucks and buses have launched the PRO 5000 Series range of heavy duty trucks yesterday here in Mumbai. The maximum tonnage of these trucks ranges from 16 tonnes to 40 tonnes and are compliant with the new BS4 norms. With these trucks featuring the latest technologies, Eicher plans to take the segment of commercial transportation head on.

The range of Pro 5000 series of heavy duty trucks has been newly developed by the company keeping the focus on reliability and efficiency which should translate to lower operational costs for the owners.Speaking at the launch, Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VE Commercial Vehicles said, “With the launch of Pro 5000 series of Heavy Duty (HD) trucks, Eicher today has the widest range of HD trucks at various price points to deliver a superior value and suit the needs of all application segments of customers in basic, value and premium category of trucks. These trucks with new BS IV technology engines are based on i3-EGR technology that is innovative, contemporary and efficient”

The PRO 5000 series also include the new E694 engine which carries technology borrowed from the Volvo group’s famous Engine Management System (EMS 3.0) supporting advanced features such as cruise control and fuel coaching. The PRO 5000 series also incorporate a comprehensive Driver Information System which gives relevant information regarding the engine and vehicle’s health thus offering tremendous value to the fleet operators.

“HD trucks segment continues to be the biggest potential area of growth for us and the launch of Eicher Pro 5000 series will enable us to further enhance our market share in the segment” he further added.

Speaking about the service capabilities which the company is planning to offer to its customers, Mr. Aggarwal added that a service promise covering the complete life cycle of the vehicle right from purchase, ownership to re-sale shall be provided.
