Maruti Suzuki Ertiga gets the new 1.5L DDiS 225 Diesel Engine

Maruti Suzuki has updated the Diesel engine on the Ertiga with the new in-house developed 1.5L DDiS 225 Diesel unit. Prices for the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Diesel now start at ₹9.86 Lakh Ex Showroom Delhi. With this the Ertiga becomes the second car model after the Ciaz to get this all new engine.

The new DDIS 225 engine delivers a peak torque of 225Nm @1500-2500rpm, maximum power of 94hp@ 4000rpm mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and a claimed fuel efficiency of 24.20 kmpl. As per Maruti Suzuki the high efficiency turbo charger optimizes peak torque generation from a lower RPM (revolutions per minute).

Maruti Suzuki had launched the New Ertiga in 2018 and since launch the MPV has sold more than 40,000 units with 39% of marketshare. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga uses Suzuki’s 5th gen Heartect platform that offers high safety and rigidity to the vehicle with the use of high tensile steel that ensures stronger safer and sturdier structure.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga with the New Diesel engine prices start at ₹9.86Lakh for the base VDi trim, the ZDi trim is priced at ₹10.69Lakh while the fully loaded ZDi+ trim comes in at ₹11.20Lakh, all prices ex showroom Delhi.
