MG Unveils Special Editions Across Its Range, To Commemorate 100 Years

MG has unveiled special editions for the Hector, Comet, ZS EV, and the Astor to commemorate its 100th anniversary. Known as the 100-Year Limited Edition, these vehicles boast a unique Evergreen shade as a tribute to the classic British racing green color. This special hue is offered across the MG Hector, ZS EV, Astor, and even in the Comet EV.

Further distinguishing features include a black roof, a ‘100-Year Edition’ badge on the tailgate, and an all-black interior theme with ‘100-Year Edition’ embroidered on the front headrests. The limited edition models also feature an ‘Evergreen’ themed head unit with customizable widget colors.

Regarding the launch, Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer at MG Motor India, remarked, “The introduction of our 100-Year Limited Edition exemplifies our enduring heritage and commitment to automotive excellence. The ‘Evergreen’ color holds a special significance for us, encapsulating the essence of performance and heritage that define our brand. MG aims to establish itself as a brand known for its illustrious legacy, one that continues to resonate with customers for generations to come.”

While there are no mechanical changes to the vehicles, MG has not disclosed the production volume for this limited run at the time of writing. Notably, the Gloster is absent from this lineup, possibly due to MG’s plans to introduce a facelift for its flagship diesel SUV later this year. This special edition marks the second in the MG lineup, following the Blackstorm pack available for the Hector, Gloster, and Astor.

In the past two years, special editions have gained popularity, with Skoda and Volkswagen taking the lead. Following closely behind are Kia and Hyundai, with Maruti recently joining the competition by introducing two fully equipped versions of the Swift.
