MG ZS EV Excite is now the base trim priced at ₹22.58 Lakh
MG Motor has launched the entry level variant for the ZS EV today. The base trim called as Excite is priced at ₹22.58 Lakh which is around ₹4 lakh cheaper than the Exclusive trim. MG has also introduced a new dual-tone ivory interior theme for the top-spec Exclusive variant of the ZS EV.
In terms of features the ZS EV Excite gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with connected car tech, a seven–inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, air filter, cruise control and rain-sensing wipers.

On the safety front, it comes with six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, hill climb/descent control and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The ZS EV Excite variant gets its power from the same 50.3kWh battery pack which has a range of 461km as the Exclusive trim. This battery is paired with an electric motor that hits out 177PS and 280Nm and this variant also comes with three levels of regenerative braking.
Talking of the charge time, using the 7.4kW wall charger takes around 9 hours while using a 50kW fast charger, takes just one hour for the fast charge.
Features that are left out on the ZS EV Excite trim include- panoramic sunroof, leather seats, dual-tone interior, wireless phone charging, six-way power adjustable driver seat, rear seat armrest with cup holders, seat back pockets, auto-folding ORVMs and a six-speaker music system (only gets four speakers). ADAS features like blind spot detection, lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert are also not included in its safety kit.
The ZS EV rivals the Hyundai Kona Electric, but now with the Excite variant that around Rs 3 lakh cheaper than the older mid trim it gets closer to the Tata Nexon EV Max and also the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 Electric.
