LIVE – 2020 Skoda Superb Launched in India, prices start at Rs. 29.99 Lakh
Skoda has launched three car models today in India via their first online launch event just a short while back. The Czech car maker Skoda introduced the Karoq and also got in the 2020 models for the Superb and the Rapid for our market. The Skoda Karoq is priced at Rs. 24.99 Lakh while the Skoda Superb comes in at Rs. 29.99 Lakh and the Skoda Rapid TSI is priced at Rs. 7.49 Lakh. The 2020 Skoda Superb is available in two trims – Sportline and Laurin & Klement and will be available in Moon White, Race Blue and Steel Grey, the Laurin & Klement is available in five colour options: Lava Blue, Magic Black, Magnetic Brown, Business Grey, and Moon White. The facelift version of the Skoda Superb sedan comes loaded with loads of upgrades compared to the outgoing model. Some of the key changes include the redesigned bumper at the front, narrower and sharper LED headlights with smart DRL, updated family grille, along with a long list of styling tweaks. On the inside the 2020 Skoda Superb now gets the Virtual Cockpit fully digital instrument cluster and also the 10.25-inch configurable touch screen display, puddle lamps with Skoda logo and 8 airbags and loads of technology and safety features loaded on to it.
The Skoda Superb Sportline trim comes with a few differentiating cosmetic elements such as black double slats, sportier front bumper with a honeycomb texture, gloss black radiator grille frame and wing mirror housings, sportier alloy wheels and gloss black strip which sits between the tail lights.
Powering the 2020 Skoda Superb is the BS 6 compliant 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 190 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is mated with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Being a Skoda the Superb comes loaded with safety features that include ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), MBA (Mechanical Brake Assist), MKB (Multi Collision Brake), HBA (Hill Brake Assist), HHC (Hill Hold Control), ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), EDS (Electronic Differential Lock), anti-theft alarm with interior monitoring, tyre pressure monitoring system (on the new SUPERB Laurin & Klement), acoustic warning signal for overrun speed, engine immobiliser with floating code system, Parktronic sensors and speakers at front and rear, and KESSY (Keyless Entry, Start, and exit SYstem) with engine start/stop button.
