Premium motorcycle brands start camping at Ahmedabad
In what can be seen as the perfect showcase of prosperity and spending power of Gujaratis, BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle arm of the Bavarian auto manufacturer and UM Motorcycles based out of Miami, USA have extended their Indian presence into Ahmedabad recently.
BMW Motorrad, part of the Indian subsidiary of BMW group has started its operations in Ahmedabad and has appointed its trusted partner Navnit Motors as the exclusive dealer in the city. The new dealership is opened at, Titanium Square, Thaltej Crossroad and the aftersales facility is located at SG Mall, Thaltej in Ahmedabad.

The BMW Motorrad’s Indian range includes BMW S 1000 RR, BMW R 1200 RS, BMW R 1200 RT, BMW K 1600 GTL, BMW R 1200 R, BMW S 1000 R, BMW R NineT, BMW R NineT Scrambler, BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, BMW R 1200 GS, BMW S 1000 XR which are available as Completely Built-up Units (CBU).
Currently, BMW is in the process of setting up its dealer network in India and is currently planning to open its first set of dealerships in Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore and Mumbai.
To tap into the lucrative demand for premium motorcycles in Ahmedabad, UM Lohia Two Wheelers Ltd, in partnership with Lohia Auto has opened its dealership on 5th of May, 2017. The dealership is located at Capstone-06, Chirag Motors Cross Road, Parimal Garden to Gujarat College Road, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad was inaugurated by Mr. Rajeev Mishra,CEO UM Lohia Two Wheelers Pvt. Ltd. The brand currently has two models on sale in India-Renegade Commando and Renegade Sports S both aiming to target cruiser community in the country.
Both the motorcycless displace 279.5 cc and are good enough for 25 BHP power and abundant 23 Nm torque. A 6-speed gearbox takes care of the transmission duties. The styling of the bikes slightly vary to cater to the urban and highway cruisers.
