Skoda launches the RAPID Automatic priced at ₹9.49 Lakh

After adapting a model offensive strategy across global markets , ŠKODA AUTO has seen an evident growth in sales . In India , the figures for the Czech manufacturer are driven by the RAPID , starting at well under the price bracket of 10 Lakh for a proper 3 box sedan the car offers an unmatched value for money proposition , adding to the immensely tempting package , Skoda India has today unveiled the new RAPID TSI Automatic Transmission at an  introductory ex showroom price starting from ₹ 9.49 lakh pan India.

The Skoda Rapid comes with a 1 Litre TSI engine mated to a 6 speed torque converter AT , putting down 110 PS (81 kW) of power at 5,000 to 5,500 rpm and 175 Nm of torque at 1,750 to 4,000 rpm.

Mr. Zac Hollis, Brand Director – ŠKODA AUTO India, said: “With the introduction of a six speed Automatic Transmission across the refreshed RAPID TSI range, the Czech marque has raised the benchmark within the segment. It is a reliable technology, provides a dynamic drive experience, and deems to be the best seller in its class.”

The new ŠKODA RAPID TSI Automatic Transmission, with a six speed torque converter, claims to offer  16.24 kmpl under standard test conditions. When compared with the outgoing 1.6 MPI engine, the new ŠKODA RAPID TSI delivers a 5 per cent upsurge in power and a 14 per cent rise in torque output. At the same time, the new RAPID TSI Automatic Transmission offers a 9 per cent increase in fuel efficiency against the previous motor.

The Rapid in its BSVI avatar was launched back in May and was offered in a wide range of variants catering to a wide customer base , the Automatic variant joining the line up is sure to attract more prospective owners . At the price what the Rapid offers is a very well rounded package and will definitely continue to drive the sales figure for Skoda Auto in India .
