Spy Shots – Seat Arona Mini SUV caught testing in India
We have with us some spy pics of a car brand that is not yet in India. The spy pics you see here are of the Seat Arona crossover. The Spanish car brand Seat belongs to the Volkswagen group and the Arona is their handsome looking Crossover SUV for Europe and a few other markets. What is to be seen is if Volkswagen is planning to get the Seat brand into India or the test mule spotted is doing rounds for benchmarking purpose. Also what is interesting is that if the Seat Arona will be launched here it will directly go against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Jeep Compass, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks in the Mini SUV segment.
The car spotted is a Left Hand Drive version for obvious reasons. Seat has been making the Arona since 2017 and is a big seller in its markets. The Arona is built on the VW’s MQB A0 platform, which is going to be localised for India as the MQB A0 IN platform for the Volkswagen cars which include VW and Skoda.
Powering the Seat Arona is the 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 114bhp and 200Nm of torque. This turbo petrol engine gets mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission.
In terms of exteriors the Seat Arona comes with full LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, LED tail lamps and turn-indicators, signature Seat front grille with a large Seat logo on it, neat looking fog lamps, faux skid plates at both ends, roof rails and 18-inch alloy wheels.
In terms of interiors the Seat Arona comes with a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, multiple drive modes, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charger etc.
