Tata Motor unveil their 2nd EV with the Tigor Electric
Tata Motors have unveiled their 2nd Electric Vehicle offering for the personal segment with the Tigor EV. The Tata Tigor EV will go on sale from August 31 while bookings have opened today across dealerships and Online at Rs. 21,000 as booking amount. The Tata Tigor EV comes with a peak power output of 55 kW and a peak torque of 170 Nm and does 0 to 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds getting power out of its Permanent Magnet Synchronous AC Motor . The Tigor EV also gets sport drive mode on its Automatic transmission. Powering the Tigor EV is the 26 kWh IP 67 rated high energy density Lithium-ion battery pack which is packaged with an efficient liquid cooled power electronics.
On the feature list you get a 7” HARMAN Touchscreen infotainment with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters, connected car suite, iRA with 30+ features including remote commands, intrusion alert, remote cooling, charging status, time to full charge and remote diagnostics etc. The Tigor EV also comes with an 8-year and 160,000 KM battery and motor warranty. The Tigor EV also gets low rolling resistance tyres with 10% lower rolling losses. The Tigor EV deploys Efficient Regeneration Strategy that has been fine-tuned following the real-world testing in Indian traffic conditions. Tigor EV is compatible with globally acceptable CCS2 charging protocol and can be fast charged as well as slow charged from any 15 A plug point. While fast charging the Tigor EV can be charged in about one hour from 0% to 80% capacity. For home charging, it will take approximately 8.5 hours to charge from 0% to 80% capacity.
Other features on the Tigor EV include electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, Height adjustable driver seat, smart key with push button start, Portable charging cable. The Tata Tigor EV comes with a boot space of 316 litres that is expandable up to 375 litres based on the option of removing the spare wheel. The Company will also provide customers a tyre puncture kit. Tigor EV comes with safety features like Rear Crash compatible structure, Impact Resistant Battery Pack casing, Dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Corner Stability Control and Hill ascent assist &Hill descent assist.
