Tata Punch receives 5 Star Global NCAP crash test rating

Tata Motors today announced that its upcoming Micro SUV the Tata Punch has become the latest recipient of the 5-star rating (16.453) for adult occupant protection and 4-starrating (40.891) for child occupant protection from Global NCAP, the foremost global car assessment programme. The Punch is third car from Tata Motors to receive this recognition after Altroz in January 2020 and Nexon in December 2018.

Tata Motors will be launching the Punch on the 18th of this month. The Punch has been designed across its studios in India, UK, and Italy. The SUV is built on the proven and modern Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture that it shares with the Altroz, the PUNCH incorporate several industry first innovations to enhance both functionality and driving pleasure. Its tall stance, high ground clearance of 190mm along with a water wading limit of 390meters make it a very capable SUV.

The Tata Punch will be available in 4 distinct personas -Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative with both Manual (MT) and Automatic (AMT) transmission options along with customization packs. You can choose the Punch from 7 body color options namely Orcus White, Daytona Grey, Calypso Red, Tornado Blue, Tropical Mist, Atomic Orange, and Meteor Bronze. The Tata Punch comes powered with the 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, three-cylinder, Revotron petrol engine that produces 85bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 3,300rpm. This engine comes mated to either a five-speed manual unit or an AMT unit. The AMT variants also come with traction pro mode.

On the inside the Tata Punch gets a dual-tone interior theme, seven-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, seven-inch instrument cluster same as the Altroz, leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, cruise control, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, rectangular AC vents with contrast coloured accents, drive modes (City and Eco), engine start-stop button, height-adjustable driver seat, iRA technology, a cooled glove-box, second-row arm rest, automatic headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers. In terms of safety the Punch comes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a seat belt reminder system, a speed alert system, brake sway control, reverse parking camera, and a tyre puncture repair kit as standard.
