Volvo unveils the C40 Recharge Electric SUV in India, launch & price details in August with deliveries starting from September
Volvo has unveiled the C40 Recharge, its 2nd Electric Car model for India. The Volvo Recharge will go on sale starting August this year and deliveries will start later in September this year. Buyers can also Pre book the C40 online on the web portal of Volvo Cars India.
The Swedish car maker plans to be an all electric car maker only by 2030 and with the C40 entering India this plan looks well on way. Volvo will be locally assembling the C40 Recharge at its Hoskote facility near Bengaluru.
In terms of looks the Volvo C40 Recharge comes with a sporty and trendy looks, it gets a sloping roofline, a closed-off panel, Thor’s hammer-styled LED headlamps with all-LED illumination, and vertically-oriented LED taillights. The C40 Recharge drives on 19-inch aero wheels. Dimensionally, the Volvo C40 Recharge measures 4,440mm in length, 1,910mm in width, and 1,591mm in height. It has a overall wheelbase of 2,702mm.
In terms of features the Volvo C40 Recharge, comes loaded with a nine-inch vertically stacked touchscreen infotainment unit, Harman Kardon-sourced 13-speaker music system, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and a wireless charger. Other key features include an automatic climate control, cruise control, powered and ventilated front seats, ADAS safety tech, an air purifier, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and Thor’s hammer-inspired LED headlamps with an all-LED light setup.
The C40 Recharge is built on the CMA platform which also shares with the XC40. Powering the Volvo C40 Recharge is a 78kWh battery pack that comes paired with a dual-motor setup sending power to all four wheels through the AWD system. The motor generates a total power output of around 400bhp and 660Nm of torque with a claimed range of 370-420km on a full charge. The AWD model can go from 0 to 96.5km/h in 4.5 seconds.
There are two charging options available for the C40 Recharge that can be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in about 37 minutes, using a 150kW DC fast charger and while using the 11kW Level 2 charger, the C40 Recharge can be 90 per cent charged in 7 to 8 hours.
In terms of safety you get ABS with EBD, airbags, hill start assist, brake assist, a 360-degree camera, ADAS technology and loads more this being a Volvo.
