2019 Renault Captur Launched, gets loads of safety features

Renault has launched the 2019 Captur. The Renault Captur now comes with a host of safety features loaded on to it. Features like the rear parking sensor, driver and passenger seatbelt reminder and a speed alert system are now on the Capturs list which meet the new safety norms. Prices for the 2019 Renault Captur now start at ₹9.50 Lakh Ex Delhi.

Renault has also discontinued the RXE and RXT trims from the Capturs lineup. The 2019 Renault Captur is now available in two trims the RXE and the fully loaded Platina trim in both petrol and diesel options.

All trims of the Renault Captur now come loaded with rear parking sensor, driver and passenger seatbelt and a speed alert system to meet the new safety norms. As per Renault India, the Captur is certified to “exceed frontal, lateral and pedestrian safety and is compliant with safety features stipulated by the Indian authorities.”

The new safety norms will be implemented across all vehicles from October 2019. The Captur comes with reinforced body shell that increases torsional rigidity to ensure occupant safety. The Captur also comes with safety features that include ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, height adjustable seatbelts, ISOFIX child seat anchor etc.

Renault CAPTUR is available with both petrol and diesel powertrain options. For the petrol option, it is powered by the 16 valves 4 cylinders 1.5L H4K petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, producing 106 PS at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The petrol powertrain delivers a mileage of 13.87 kmpl (ARAI certified).

The diesel version is powered by the 1.5L K9K diesel engine (common rail injection), mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, delivering a maximum power of 110 PS at 3,850 rpm and peak torque of 240 Nm at 1,750 rpm. The diesel powertrain delivers a mileage of 20.37 kmpl (ARAI certified).
