All New Mahindra Thar to be unveiled on 15th August, video teaser released

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. today announced that it will take the curtains off the newest version of its eagerly anticipated SUV, the Thar, on the occasion of India’s 74th Independence Day – 15th August, 2020.

As per Mahindra the all-new Thar is a quantum leap in Technology, Comfort and Safety features without compromising on the Thar’s core promise – legendary off-road capability and its iconic design. This will not only attract the die-hard Thar enthusiasts, but also appeal to all those people who have always wanted to own an iconic vehicle with all the bells and whistles of a contemporary SUV.

Ever since India became a free nation, ‘The Mahindra Classics’ have enabled Indians to explore new terrains and do things that they could never have done before. The Thar has been the flag-bearer of this rich automotive legacy from 2010 and is the purest expression of Mahindra’s DNA. The second-gen Mahindra Thar is expected to receive a all new design with the signature seven-slat Jeep style grille, all new front and rear bumpers, DRLs , integrated turn indicators, five-spoke alloy wheels, LED tail lights, rear door mounted spare wheel.

On the inside the All New Mahindra Thar will get lods of updates that will mostly include new cabin area with beige leather seats, all new dashboard and centre console, circular AC vents, leather-wrapped steering wheel, steering mounted controls, electrically operated front windows, cup holders and a large touchscreen infotainment system.

Powering the All New Mahindra Thar will mostly be the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel motor, there also will be the 2.0-litre petrol engine on the lineup. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual unit as standard while an automatic unit.
