Amara Raja wins eight awards at International Convention on Quality Circles

The Amara Raja Group today announced that it has won EIGHT PAR EXCELLENCE AWARDS at the 46th International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) held in Hyderabad last week during 24th – 27th Nov’21.

The Indian conglomerate, whose business interests span a variety of verticals from the Amaron brand of lead-acid batteries to power conversion products, sheet metal products, precision components, plastic molding, electronic manufacturing services, Infrastructure Development, industrial services to food, had entered eight teams in the international level competition.

Up against over 900 teams comprised of nearly 5,000 participants from 13 countries, they each won the Par Excellence award.

Their achievements are certainly testament to the exacting quality control standards we aspire to at the Amara Raja Group. Quality Control Circles (QCC) are a participative approach to problem solving in which groups of operatives from the shop floor area identify, analyze and devise solutions to problems, driving a continuous improvement in business and quality standards.

Amara Raja began incorporating QCCs in 2004, initially starting out with just five circles. Today, nearly 1300 qualitycontrol circles comprising 8,000 employees are deployed throughout the Group.

This push to instill a QCC culture, has delivered tremendous value in the form of cost reductions, quality improvement, delivery improvement, an improvement in safety and ergonomic standards and zero rejections.
