Exclusive Spyshots- 2021 Mahindra Scorpio near Production Version Spotted
The Scorpio has been one of the biggest successful models from Mahindra since its initial launch way back in the early 2000’s. Now Mahindra is gearing up to launch the latest version of the SUV. We have received Exclusive Spyshots of the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio sent to us by our avid reader Adnan Shaikh. Mahindra has been heavily testing the pre production versions of the Scorpio and what is seen in these latest images is the near final production version. The Scorpio in its latest avatar looks grown in dimensions and maintains its SUV flat styling. The Scorpio uses Mahindra’s ladder-on-frame chassis which has been its hallmark since inception. What is seen is the vertically slotted front grille, wide air dams, LED headlamps and fog lamps, sharp bumper on the front.
On the sides what can be made out is the dualtone diamond cut alloys, sounded fenders with inserts, character lines on the shoulder and waist area, large roofrail, large quarter glass, sharkfin antenna. On the rear what is seen is a large spoiler, redesigned fifth door, stop lamp, vertically placed new design all LED tail lamps in all new design, new bumpers, under body mounted spare wheel.
In terms of interiors the new Mahindra Scorpio is expected to come with a all new cabin area which includes a new dashboard with a new center console, instrument panel, AC vents and steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system with state-of-the-art connectivity features, engine start / stop button.
The new Mahindra Scorpio will be powered by the same engine options that also power the new Thar, 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel motor. Transmission options include both manual and automatic. The new Scorpio will also get a 4×4 trim on its lineup. The petrol engine belts out a maximum power output of 150 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. Whereas, the diesel motor generates 130 bhp and 320 Nm of maximum torque. What would be interesting to see is if Mahindra retunes these engines as compared to the Thar for their power and torque output.
