Milestone – Hyundai rolls out 8 Millionth Car for India

Hyundai India has crossed the 8 million cars production milestone in India today. With this the Korean car maker becomes the second largest automaker in India after Maruti Suzuki.

Hyundai now has around 16 per cent of all car sales in the country with this feat. Maruti Suzuki had announced their 20 million production milestone just a few days back and today Hyundai did their 8 million mark. It may be recalled that Hyundai started making cars in India in 1998 and the Santro was their very first model. Hyundais 8th millionth car to roll out from the production line was the 2018 Creta.

The Santro sold more than 1.85 Million units worldwide from the Hyundai India manufacturing Plant. The Korean giant rolled out its first Million car as the Santro in 2006 which was just 8 years after commencement of commercial production in 1998. Hyundai Motor India has sold 5,300,967 unitsin the Indian Market and 2,703,581 unitsin exports globally.
