Make in India Jeep Compass Becomes Highest Awarded SUV for 2017. The Jeep Compass also surpassed a milestone as production crossed 25,000 units and exports reached 5000 units.
Jeep Compass has received 26 awards in 2017 which include 7 Car of the Year and 15 SUV of the Year awards. Jeep Compass was a runaway success for the ailing FCA, now the company has today announced that they have already produced 25,000 units of the super successful Jeep Compass. The icing on the cake is that FCA has also shipped 5000 units for exports to the right hand drive markets including key markets like Australia, Japan and the United Kingdom.
The Jeep Compass was launched on the 31st of July 2017 with deliveries starting on 6th August 2017. Commenting on the awards, Mr. Kevin Flynn – President and Managing Director, FCA India said, “We are incredibly proud to have won so many prestigious awards for the all-new Jeep Compass, within seven months of its market launch. Thanks must go not only to the judges, but also to the thousands of employees across India that have worked tirelessly to deliver the Compass – from research and development, quality, engineering, manufacturing and commercial operations. The Jeep Compass comes powered by a 2.0L MultiJet Diesel and 1.4L Multi-Air Turbo Petrol. The Diesel engine has 173PS and 350 Nm of torque while the Petrol engine makes 162PS and 250Nm of torque. The Diesel version of the Compass gets a 6-speed manual transmission while the Petrol comes with both he 6-speed manual as well as the 7-speed DDCT (Dry Dual Clutch Technology) or Automatic Transmission. The Compass is available in three trims – Sport, Longitude and Limited and 10 variants, including a 4×2 Turbo Petrol with a 7-speed automatic transmission (DDCT).
The Jeep Compass is currently being retailed out of 50 Jeep-flagship and FCA outlets, across 47 cities. FCA is expanding its sales network to 60 outlets by the end of this calendar year. The Jeep Compass comes with a three-year / 100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty and in addition, a complimentary Road-side Assistance (RSA) package for three (3) years. Customers can avail of an extended warranty program to enjoy additional warranty up to one or two years.
