Kia EV6 All Electric Launched in India at Rs.59.95 Lakh
Kia has launched their first all electric model the EV6 in India today. The Kia EV6 is available in two options GT Line RWD priced at Rs. 59.95 Lakh and the Dual Motor AWD EV6 priced at Rs. 64.95 Lakh. The Kia EV6 is available in a choice of five exterior colours – Moonscape, Snow White Pearl, Runway Red, Aurora Black Pearl, and Yacht Blue. Kia will import the EV6 as CBU units limited to only 100 of them for now.

Kia had opened bookings for the EV6 on May 26th across India for an amount of Rs 50,000, with deliveries set to begin in September. The EV6 now becomes the flagship model for Kia in India replacing the Carnival which was its earlier most premium model. Kia says they received 355 bookings already for the EV6.
The extremely stylish designed EV6 is built on the E-GMP platform that it shares with Hyundai. Powering the Kia EV6 will is the 77.4kWh battery pack available in two states of tune. The entry-level GT Line variant is an RWD unit producing 225bhp and 350Nm of torque, while the top-spec GT Line AWD gets two motors on it and produces 345bhp and 605Nm of torque. On a single full charge, the car can travel up to 528 kilometers as per the WLTP combined cycle. The Kia EV6 AWD model can propel from 0-100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds while the RWD version can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds.
In terms of features the Kia EV6 comes with all LED lighting, flush-fitting door handles, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a glossy-black insert for the rear bumper, an LED light bar running the length of the boot lid, an electric sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, electric parking brake with auto-hold function, dual-zone climate control, powered tail-gate, ADAS, a 12.3-inch curved touchscreen infotainment system, a 14 speaker Meridian Audio system and lots more.
The Kia EV6 comes with innovative technologies like the multi-charging system, the world’s first charging system that operates with both 400V and 800V chargers without the need of an additional controller, Ultra-fast charging that Charges the vehicle from 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes using a 350KWh charger, Vehicle to load that Allows the Kia EV6 to power other devices (enough to power a medium-size home AC) by employing a 2-way charging technology.
In terms of safety the Kia EV6 comes with more than 10 ADAS features, 8-airbags, adaptive headlights, ABS with EBD, blind spot assist and lots more. The EV6 also gets more than 60 Kia Connected Car features.
The Kia EV6 comes with 3 years of warranty, 8 years or 1.60 Lakh KMS warranty for the battery and 3 years road side assistance.
Currently there is no competition for the Kia EV6 until its cousin the Hyundai Ionic5 launches later this year. As far as the price is considered the only car model that comes close is the BMW i4 which was launched a few days back priced at Rs. 69 Lakh.
