The 2017 Hyundai Verna is based on an all new platform but carries forward the engines albeit with new transmission options.
Hyundai India has finally launched the next generation Verna in India. The 2017 Hyundai Verna is based on a new K2 platform that offers better crash worthiness. The sedan takes on the likes of the 2017 Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the 2017 Volkswagen Vento. The new Verna gets a exhaustive features list and also some first in class features like ventilated front seats. The 2017 Hyundai Verna is designed on the 2nd generation Fluidic design sculpture that makes it looks sleek, in fact like a mini Elantra. The car gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED taillamps and large diamond cut 16-inch alloy wheels. Also a new Flame Orange paint shade is on offer.
On the insides, the 2017 Hyundai Verna gets a revised dashboard layout that is made up of better materials than before. There is a new instrument cluster borrowed from the Creta. The central console consists of a 7-inch infotainment system that comes with connectivity options like Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Mirror Link. The system also supports satellite navigation, Bluetooth, AUX, USB connectivity. There is a 12V power socket upfront to charge your phone while rear passengers are treated by centrally mounted AC vents. There is also a sunroof on offer that lifts up the cabin ambience.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna is powered by 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines that develops 123 PS and 128 PS respectively. Both engines come with the option of a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The 1.4-litre engines and the 4-speed automatic gearbox have been done away with on this new generation model. Safety features include ISOFIX seats, ABS and 2 airbags as standard features, while 6 airbags are standard on top variants.
