The Hyundai Xcent features many changes on the exterior and interiors, and also gets a new engine option.
Hyundai India has launched the 2017 Xcent in India at a starting price of Rs. 5.38 lakhs for the base petrol variant. The 2017 Hyundai Xcent competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki DZire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and the recently launched Tata Tigor. On the outsides, you get a new Cascade design front grille with horizontal chrome slats and new fog lamps with LED DRLs. At the rear there is a redesigned taillight cluster with a two piece design, dual tone bumper, shark fin antenna and chrome door handles. The car continues to be offered with 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
On the insides, there is a new infotainment system that supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink. The system also supports Voice recognition and satellite navugation. The car also gets a dual tone interior along with features like a start/stop engine button, cooled glove box, driver seat height adjustment, leather wrapped steering wheel, rear AC vents, new seat fabrics, tilt steering column and a rear centre armrest with cup holders. The 2017 Hyundai Xcent also boasts of a 407 litre boot space which is one of the largest in this segment.
The 2017 Hyundai Xcent is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol motor with 82 HP and a brand new 1.2-litre diesel motor with 75 HP that was recently also introduced on the 2017 Hyundai Grand i10. The petrol motor is available with the option of a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox, while the diesel only gets a 5-speed manual gearbox. Fuel efficiency on the petrol manual and automatic variants is rated at 20.14 kmpl and 17.36 kmpl respectively, while the diesel delivers 25.4 kmpl.
