LIVE – 2019 BMW 3 Series Launched in India priced at ₹41.40Lakh

BMW has launched the 2019 3 Series in India with prices starting at ₹41.40 Lakh. This is the seventh generation of the best selling model from the German car maker. BMW has been manufacturing the 3 Series since 1975 and the model sums up for nearly 30% of the total sale for the Munich based car maker. The 2019 BMW 3 Series will be available in Diesel as the 320d and in Petrol as the 330i.

In this latest generation the BMW 3 Series code named the G20 and based on the BMW CLAR platform  is longer, wider and taller in dimensions as compared to the outgoing model. The car stands at 4709mm in length (+76mm), 1827mm in width (+16mm) and 1442mm in height (+1mm). The car also has 41mm more of wheelbase (2851mm) over its predecessor. The center of gravity is 10mm lower, and the car is more aerodynamic than ever. This 3 Series is also around 55kgs lighter than its predecessor. Boot space remains the same as the earlier model at 480 liters.

In terms of exteriors the 2019 BMW 3 Series sports the latest larger and stretched family Kidney grille, new design slim headlights with a neat looking kink on it. The familiar BMW Corona rings are no replaced with ‘U’ shaped DRL inside the all LED headlights. The side profile is very evident of the longer wheelbase of the new 3 Series making it appear extremely sporty. The trademark BMW Hofmeister kink is now integrated into the C pillar instead of the rear door frame. The rear profile gets new 3d design LED tail lights with fresh bumper and boot lid mating well with the overall 3d styling.

On the inside the 2019 BMW 3 Series gets a roomy cabin with driver oriented cockpit. All new dashboard houses the 10.25 inch touch-screen infotainment system powered by the latest generation BMW Operating 7.0 operating system with all the connectivity options, gesture control and even voice control enabled. The instrument cluster is taken care by the 5.7 inch  virtual cockpit LCD screen. 3-zone climate control and ambient lighting is also offered on the equipment list of the new 3 Series.

The New BMW 3 Series is available in two engine options. The Petrol gets its power from the 2.0-litre 4 cylinder motor with 258hp between 5000-6000rpm and 400Nm of torque, and the Diesel option powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder motor with 190hp 4000rpm and 400Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated with a 8-speed automatic transmission powering the rear wheels.

In terms of safety the BMW 3 Series comes loaded till the brim with features like cruise control, ABS with EBD, front and side airbags, parking sensors with parking camera, automatic parking assistant, reversing assistant, collision and pedestrian warning, city braking to name a few.
