LIVE – 2022 ZS EV Launched in India, available in two trims with prices starting at Rs. 21.99 Lakh

MG Motor has launched the 2022 ZS EV in India today. The 2022 MG ZS EV will be available in two trims namely Excite priced at Rs. 21.99 Lakh and the top end trim the Exclusive priced at Rs. 25.88 Lakh. The ZS EV Excite will be available starting June 2022 while the Exclusive trim is available starting today. The new ZS EV is available in four exterior colour options: Ferris White, Currant Red, Ashen Silver and Sable Black.

The ZS EV shares a lot with its Petrol sibling the Astor. In terms of updates on the outside the 2022 ZS EV comes with MG’s signature global design cues and features a New Electric design grill and 17” tomahawk hub design alloy wheels, Full LED Hawkeye headlamp and new LED tail lamps.

On the inside the ZS EV now comes with premium leather-layered dashboard, centre armrest and a dual-pane panoramic sky roof, rear centre headrest, rear centre armrest with cup holders and rear AC vents, 7 inch digital instrument cluster, 10.1 inch touch screen AVN system. Other features offered on the ZS EV facelift include a wireless charging, Digital Bluetooth key, 6-airbags, 360-degree camera, blind-spot detection, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, hill descent control, ESC and TPMS. The ZS EV also comes with ADAS features on it.

Powering the 2022 ZS EV is a 50.3 kWh battery and an electric motor with an output of 174 BHP and 353 Nm. The battery is said to offer a longer range as compared to earlier that of 461 km on a single charge.

MG claims a 0-100 km/h time of 8.5 seconds. The MG ZS EV competes with the Tata Nexon Electric and the Hyundai Kona. Both of these are also expected to get major updates in the coming months. Watch this space for more as the Electric Vehicle segment heats up.
