LIVE – Hyundai Kona Electric Launched in India at ₹25.30Lakh

Hyundai has launched India’s first long range Electric SUV the Kona Electric today at a glittering media event in New Delhi. The Hyundai Kona Electric is priced at ₹25.30 Lakh Ex Showroom pan India.

The Hyundai Kona Electric will be imported as CBU units. Hyundai has appointed 15 dealers across 11 major cities to sell the Kona Electric at the start. The Hyundai Kona Electric will be available in 6 color options- Phantom Black, Polar White, Marina Blue, Typhoon Silver, Polar White with Phantom Black roof.

The Hyundai Kona comes premium features like ventilated seats, leather seats, wireless charging, android auto and Apple CarPlay with shift by wire on a 17.77cms infotainment system, smart electric sunroof, 10-way power driver seat with lumbar support, voice recognition, paddle shifters, option for driver only air conditioning, virtual engine sound system for pedestrian safety to name a few.

Powering the Hyundai Kona Electric is the highly efficient 136PS permeant magnet synchronous electric motor powered by a high voltage 39.2kWh advanced Lithium -ion polymer Battrey. Torque Output stands at 40.27kgm on to the front wheels. The Kona Electric can do a 0-100kmph in 9.7 seconds.

The Battrey comes with liquid cooling technology and high energy density. The Kona Electric boasts of a 452kms per charge ARAI certified range. 80% charge can be achieved in 57 minutes with the DC Quick Charger using the CCS Type II Charging port, while a 7.2KW level II Charger takes 6hrs 10mins.

The charging port is located in the front grille area. The Kona also comes with 4 preset drive modes – Eco, Eco+, Comfort and Sports.

Safety features on the Hyundai Kona Electric include 6- airbags, ESC, VSM, Isofix, hill start assist, virtual engine sound, tyre pressure monitoring system, regenerative braking, heated wing mirrors to name a few.
