LIVE – Hyundai Venue Launched at Rs. 6.50 Lakh

Hyundai has launched the highly anticipated and awaited sub-compact SUV the Venue in India with prices starting at ₹6.50 Lakh. The Hyundai Venue becomes the first Sub-Compact SUV from the Korean car maker in the segment. Hyundai has unveiled the Venue onboard a Luxury Cruise-liner sailing to Goa and there after opened bookings on May 2nd. On the 1st day itself the Venue received 2000 bookings making records of sorts. The Hyundai Venue takes on the segment leader Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV3OO in the Sub-Compact SUV segment. Hyundai terms the Venue as India’s First Connected car.

The Hyundai Venue will be available in five variants: E, S, SX, SX(O), and SX+ and three engine and three transmission options from day one. Hyundai has made it sure to have all the trims and variants of the Venue nicely spread out across the price range. One of the strongest traits of the Venue is the choice of engines and transmission available. Powering the oil burner Venue is the 1.4-litre diesel engine tha hits out 90PS of power and 220Nm torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Petrol engine powering the Venue is the 1.2-litreunit producing 83PS of power and 115Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The biggest highlight of the Hyundai Venue lineup is the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine which is developed and manufactured totally in-house, this all new engine makes a healthy 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque and also comes with a first in class 7-speed DCT (dual clutch transmission).

In terms of dimensions the Hyundai Venue stands at 3995mm in length, 1770mm in width and has a height of 1590mm with a wheelbase of 2500mm. The Hyundai Venue looks extremely trendy and modern at first glance. The design language is typical like the Hyundai SUV’s, reminds you of the Creta, Tucson and the SantaFe. The front profile looks dominating with the signature Hyundai cascading grille in mesh finish, dual styled projector headlights with a ring type LED DRL like the Hyundai Kona looks extremely catchy. The side profile looks strong with the solid full flared flexed wheel arches and the strong character line. The rear styling is mainly dominated with the flushed tailgate and square LED tail lamps not forgetting the VENUE insignia placed boldly on the boot-lid. The over all fit and finish looks extremely good and the Venue feels Premium. The Venue drives on new sporty 16-inch alloys and also gets large roof rails, under-body cladding.

The Hyundai Venue is available in seven monotone colours and three dual-tone colour options. The colours on offer include: Star Dust, Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Deep Forest, Lava Orange,and Denim Blue. The dual-tone colour combinations are: blue with white roof, white with black roof and orange with black roof.

In terms of interiors the Hyundai Venue gets an all black theme. The dashboard gets an all new design and so does the steering wheel. The overall fit and finish of the cabin is extremely good and at par with the elder brother the Creta. In terms of features, the Venue comes with remote engine start/stop, remote climate control, voice recognition, vehicle relationship management, and more. Other comfort features include an electric sunroof, cruise control, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, cornering lamps, cooled glovebox, and a multi-functional steering wheel. The infotainment system is an new 8-inch floating touchscreen display that comes with Apple Carplay, Android Auto, navigation, Radio, USB to name a few. The instrument console is a dual-pod unit that comes with a large MID unit in the centre. The seats on the Venue come with matching black leather upholstery and have a nice contoured design and white hand stitching along to edges making them look sportier.

The Hyundai Venue is termed as the Connected Car which is its biggest highlight. The Venue comes loaded with Hyundai’s latest generation BlueLink connectivity system. You get connected features which work in tandem from the app installed in your mobile from which you can Remotely control the vehicles engine start stop, set temperature for climate control, door lock u clock, horn and light control. The advanced BlueLink infotainment system understands Indian English. The system also comes with live maps for navigation along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other intelligent connected features include Auto crash notification, SOS/ Emergency assist, roadside assist, panic notification, stolen vehicle tracking, stolen vehicle notification, stolen vehicle immobilizer, remote vehicle status, find my car, share my car, maintenance and car health report, driving info, push map to car, push map by call center, traffic info to. And a few. Hyundai will be providing free data service to its customers until the car is under warranty. All of the Connected features work with the help of the eSim hardware has been developed in house by Hyundai Mobis powered by Vodafone-Idea.
