LIVE – KTM 790 Duke Launched in India at ₹8.64Lakh

The much awaited KTM 790 Duke has been launched in India priced at ₹8,63,945 ex Showroom Pan India. The middle weight naked street motorcycle the Duke 790 becomes KTM’s performance flagship model for India and will start a new chapter the the Austrian brand co-owned by Bajaj.

Bookings for the KTM 790 Duke have opened today across 9 cities in India. Buyers can book the 790 Duke by a down payment of ₹1.70 Lakh followed by an EMI of ₹19,000 for 5 years through Bajaj Finance at a low interest rate of 7.75%.

The KTM Duke 790 will be brought into India as Complete Knocked Down (CKD) units and would be assembled in Pune. The KTM 790 Duke is known as the Scalpel styled motorcycle mostly due to its razor sharp designing and also for it high performance capability. The motorcycle is built on a Trellis frame with a one-piece aluminium rear subframe helping it remain lightweight in its construction and also making its dimensions compact. The motorcycle comes with minimal body panels which also help in ensuring its body weight that stands at just 189 kg.

Powering the KTM 790 Duke is the 799 cc parallel-twin motor that belts out 103 bhp of power and 86 Nm of peak torque mated to a 6-speed gearbox. What makes this motorcycle stand out is the super impressive power-to-weight ratio of 612 bhp per tonne.

In terms of equipment, the KTM 790 Duke gets loaded to the brim, the performance street motorcycle comes with pitchfork LED headlamp and LED taillight, TFT screen instrument cluster similar to the 390 Duke.

The KTM 790 Duke also sports WP sourced USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear, while the braking duties are performed by 300 mm dual discs at the front with radially mounted J.Juan calipers, while the rear brakes get a 240 mm single disc. The motorcycle also gets an aluminum handlebar that is adjustable in 4 positions on the triple clamp and can also be rotated in three further positions.

Other features on the KTM 790 Duke include slipper clutch assist, 9-level traction control, ride-by-wire with four riding modes – Street, Track, Rain, and Supermoto, cornering ABS with Supermoto mode, bi-directional quickshifter and launch and wheelie control. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. The motorcycle comes with 9 step adjustable traction control, Adjustable Throttle Response, Switchable ABS with launch control.
