LIVE – MG Gloster Premium SUV Launched at Rs.28.98 Lakh
MG Motor has launched its premium full sized SUV the Gloster in India priced at a super price of Rs. 28.98Lakh. You have an option of the 6-seater or 7-seater models to choose from. The pricing of the Gloster undercuts all the rivals in its class namely the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Mahindra Alturas G4. MG Motor had unveiled the Gloster at the 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi and since then the Big Daddy SUV was awaited for its India entry. The MG Gloster also becomes India’s 1st Level 1 Autonomous vehicle.
The MG Gloster is available in five trims namely Super (7 seater) at Rs. 28.98 Lakh, Smart (7 seater) at Rs. 30.98 Lakh, Sharp (7-Seater) at Rs. 33.68 Lakh, Sharp 96-seater) at Rs. 33.98 Lakh and the top end Savvy at Rs. 35.38 Lakh. This prices are valid till 31st October for the first 2000 buyers. This prices also includes the My MG Shield worth Rs 50,000.
The MG Gloster is the rebadged version of the Maxus D90 which is sold in many countries including Europe, America, Asia and Oceana. In terms of exteriors the Gloster stands at 4985mmin length, 1926mm in width and 1867mm in height with a overall wheelbase of 2950mm. These dimensions are larger than the segment rivals the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour to a large extent. The dimensions of the Gloster put it directly in the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado category in terms of its dimensions. The Gloster is bold in its styling and comes with huge body proportion’s from all angles. The Gloster gets all styling ques that of a premium SUV. Powering the MG Gloster is a 2.0-Litre Twin Turbo Diesel engine. This 1996cc oil burner makes 218PS @ 4000rpm and belts out 480 Nm of torque between 1500-2400rpm. This motor is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission with a 4 wheel drive unit.
In terms of tures the MG Gloster comes with LED headlamps, LED tail lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, chrome grille, as well as front and rear fog lights. Inside the cabin the SUV gets 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, iSmart connectivity, Tan colour interior theme with diamond stitching, captain seats for the second row, an eight-inch MID, 64 colour ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, drive modes, three-zone climate control, and a powered tail-gate.
The biggest USP that makes the Gloster different from its rivals is the Level1 Autonomous system. The package includes ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist System). This system includes Adaptive Cruise control, Frontal Collision Warning, Lane departure warning, Auto park assist.
Apart from the ADAS feature package the MG Gloster also comes loaded with long list of advanced safety features that include, dual front, side and curtain airbags, electronic stability program, traction control, roll movement intervention, hill assist, ABS with EBD, hill descent assist, all wheel disc brakes, 360 degrees camera, driver fatigue alert, ISOFIX child anchorage to name a few.
The MG Gloster gets a three year warranty up to 1 lakh km that includes a three year road-side assistance program. Customers can then choose to extend the warranty to a four or a five year term either by leaving the mileage as it is, or change it to unlimited km. MG has provided a range of prices starting with Rs 9,500 for three years/unlimited km, right up to five years/unlimited km. Road side assistance can be extended at Rs 2,457 for the fourth year while Rs 4,791 buys you the fifth year as well.
My MG Shield Plan includes Rs. 50,000 worth of aftersales services under My MG Shield or accessories at no additional cost. MG also has two types of service plans – Classic and Premium. Both types include 3 year/45,000 km, 4 year/50,000 km and 5 year/75,000.
