Matter Energy Unveils India’s First Electric Motorcycle with Liquid Cooled Battery & Manual Gearbox
Matter Energy has unveiled its very first product today with India’s First E Motorcycle with Manual Gearbox and Liquid cooled battery. The official name and price of the E Motorcycle will be revealed later. The Ahmedabad based startup said they faced a lot of rollercoasters in bringing its EVs to life.
The key USP of the motorcycle is the new battery technology that is being devised by Matter. Where they will be using India’s First Active Liquid Cooled Two Wheeler EV Battery Pack. The new battery will have the following features Integrated Intelligent Thermal Managment System High Voltage Energy Pack for performance E2W Super Smart BMS for Optimal system safety, efficiency, and reliability Battery Pack with IP67 rating Thermally conductive lightweight metal casing.
Apart from this the E Motorcycle also comes with a 4-speed manual gearbox and ABS. Powering the motorcycle is a liquid-cooled, 5.0 kWh battery and Matter Energy claims it it can do a range of 125-150km on a single charge. You can easily top up the battery using a household 5A charging port while a full charge takes around 5 hours. The battery is linked to a electric motor that makes 10.5kW and has a claimed torque output of 520nm. The E Motorcycle also comes with three riding modes.
In terms of features the Matter E Motorcycle comes with an 7.0-inch touch-compatible LCD featuring turn-by-turn navigation, notification alerts and music playback, all controlled via buttons on the handlebar-mounted switchgear. The software on the bike will also be able to receive OTA (Over The Air) updates to periodically receive the latest features. The motorcycle also gets keyless operation and comes with a key fob.
The Matter e-bike comes with an onboard charger along with a 5-litre glovebox on the ‘tank’, which features a charging socket. The motorcycle will come loaded with an unique app that the bike will be compatible with which allows various the user to access a whole host of information such as theft detection, charging percentage and ride stats and will have park assist (reverse functionality).
In terms of looks the Matter Energy electric bike gets a naked streetfighter styling with LED lights, the motorcycle also features Car like auto-cancelling indicators. Other design features include split seats, raised clip-on handlebars and a split grab rail for the pillion. The bike comes in a choice of four colour options -grey and neon, blue and gold, black and gold and red/black/white.
Matter Energy has announced bookings for its E Motorcycle will open in the first quarter of 2023, which is when the prices will also be announced. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in April 2023.
