Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ Launched in India priced at Rs2.45crore
Mercedes-Benz India has launched the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ all-electric premium sedan in India priced at Rs. 2.45crore. This model now becomes the flagship car model for the German car maker for our markets. The EQS 53 4MATIC+ becomes the first AMG-based performance EV that will be sold here in India. The AMG EQS 53 will come into the Indian market as a CBU (completely built unit).
In terms of looks the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ comes with all the AMG styling in place which include the AMG grille with vertical slats, AMG alloys specially made of light weight alloy for the EQS, AMG brakes etc. You get intelligent LED lighting with signature DRL that stretches’ from left to right above the grille. The front bumper gets tastefully done glossy black and chrome inserts while the sides stand out with the 22 inch AMG alloys. The roof slopes down into the tail in premium style while the flush door handles come to life when you walk towards the car to unlock themselves.
The drama at the rear is also very exciting with 3D helix design LED tail lamps looking classy and very unique. Like the front the rear lights also run across the boot area connecting themselves and creating a super stylish clean sporty design theme.
The cabin area is the talking point of the EQS 53 due to its 56 inch color display that runs from left to right across the dash. These are basically three OLED screens that merge together making the AVN system, virtual cockpit and one more display for the front passenger. Powering this Hyperscreen is an 8 core CPU with 24GB of RAM. You get haptic feedback with the help of 12 actuators that are hidden under the screens.
Powering this premium Electric sedan is an 108kWh battery pack that generates 484kW of power which is equal to 658hp and 950Nm of torque. This can propel the EQS 53 from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 220kmph via two electric motors one on each axle. It also gets an optional AMG Dynamic Plus package in which the power output increases to up to 750 bhp in the Race Start mode with boost function and develops up to 1020 Nm of torque and can sprint to 100 in just 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph.
The EQS 53 is rated to return a total range of 541 to 576kms on a full charge and can also support fast charging of up to 200kW that can charge its battery from 10 to 80% in just 31 minutes. A normal 7.4kW home charger takes around 15.5hrs to get it to 100%.
The Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ takes on the likes of the Audi RS e-tron GT, Porsche Taycan Turbo S in this fairly untamed Premium Luxury Electric car segment.
