Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe launched in India at Rs 2.07 Crore

Mercedes-Benz have launched the AMG GLE 63 S Coupe priced at Rs 2.07 Crore. This becomes their 12th AMG model for India and also the 1st model to come with the EQ Boost technology on it.

In terms of looks the GLE 63 S Coupe has a head turning overall appearance with the Panamericana grille that comes with the fascia that is decorated with large vents on the front bumpers making up for the face of this AMG. The sides are best defined with the sloping roofline and squared-off wheel arches that make this AMG SUV look pretty macho and muscular. The rear profile is highlighted with sleek looking LED taillamps. On the inside here things are also very much AMG class with the upholstery being Nappa, latest generation MBUX system, sporty AMG seats, high-quality aluminium inserts along with bold AMG badging.

Powering this beast is the renowned 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 which on the 63 S is tuned to hit out 612 horsepower and an monsterly 850Nm of torque. The coupe-SUV can touch 0-100 in mere 3.8 seconds. With its top speed being electronically limited to 280kmph. You also get a 48-volt EQ Boost mild-hybrid system with its additional starter motor and an alternator in a single, powerful electric motor integrated between the engine and the transmission. The EQ Boost hybrid system produces an additional 21bhp of output plus 250Nm of torque adding to the total power output for this AMG. Transmission duties are taken care by a nine-speed AMG Speedshift that sends power to all four wheels using the variable torque distributors in the 4MATIC+ system. The GLE 63 S Coupe also comes with Active Ride Control on its feature list. Also on this SUV Coupe is a body kit made of carbon fibre while it drives on 22-inch light-alloy AMG wheels. The nine-speed AMG Speedshift sends power to all four wheels channelled through variable torque distributors in the 4MATIC+ system.
