Range Rover Velar pricing to be announced on September 21

A few more details regarding the Indian launch and pricing of the Range Rover Velar have emerged online. According to few reports online, the official pricing of the Range Rover Velar would be announced to the public on September 21. The SUV which was unveiled to the world at the GIMS 2017 event will be slotted between Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport in terms of pricing and product positioning.

With respect to the details regarding the engine options and feature specifications of the Range Rover Velar, there are quite a few things to share with our readers. Range Rover Velar SUV will get two diesel and one petrol engine options in India. The top of the line diesel variant will be powered by a 3.0 L TD6 engine which produces 296 BHP of power and an impressive 700 Nm of torque. The other diesel engine option will be the 2.0 L Ingenium diesel that is good for 177 BHP and a more conservative 430 Nm.

Coming to the petrol option in the Range Rover Velar lineup, it is a 2.0 L Ingenium unit going by the badge P250. The petrol sipping engine produces 246 BHP of power and a sedate 265 Nm of torque. All the three engine options should come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard coupled with Land Rover’s Terrain Response All Wheel Drive System.

Also, indicative prices of the Range Rover Velar were leaked online a few days back giving us a fair idea about how the SUV will be priced. As per the leak, Range Rover Velar petrol will be priced in the range of INR 79-85 lakhs. The diesel variant powered by the smaller Ingenium 2.0 L will be priced between INR 79-85 lakhs. The much larger 3.0 L TD6 engine powered variants will command asking price between INR 1.1 Crore to 1.18 Crores.

Most of the dealerships of Jaguar Land Rover across India have already started accepting bookings, albeit unofficially.
